The Adult Co-Occurring Unit on the Sheppard Pratt at Ellicott City Campus, in Howard County, is an 18 bed unit providing crisis stabilization for patients with psychiatric conditions and substance abuse.
The Adult Co-Occurring Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Worker! The Mental Health Worker, under close supervision of the Staff Nurse, participates in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors. Provides direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse. Assists in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.
Requires: HS Diploma or GED required. Human Services related degree or past Mental Health Worker or related experience strongly preferred. Must be available to work every other weekend. Must be able to complete required seven day initial orientation: Thursday, Friday and the following Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, excluding Saturday and Sunday.
